ABOUT MAI
Indigenous Art Museum – MAI was opened on 11/16/2016 in the Água Verde neighborhood, in Curitiba, Paraná. It is the first private museum in Brazil dedicated exclusively to the artistic production of indigenous Brazilians, and has one of the largest collections in the world in this area. There are around 700 pieces divided between feather art, ceramics, baskets, musical instruments, ritual masks and utilitarian objects.
MAI was born in Cleveland (PR), in 2009, with the aim of rescuing and preserving Brazilian indigenous culture. The quality of its collection and the constant care in maintaining and conserving the pieces allow visitors a true cultural immersion.
